How to run a campaign?

To keep your community engaging, active and to get best values from members of your community, platform has a unique feature called campaigns. Campaign has a multi-step process where admin can create a campaign, collect responses, and using these responses drive the engagement or plan other activities.

Running a campaign has mainly 3 steps:
  1. Create a campaign
  2. Promote campaign and collect responses
  3. Using responses plan your activities or post the content
To use campaigns module you will need admin rights to 'Run & Manage Campaigns'. 

How to create a campaign?
  1. Go to 'Admin Dashboard' > 'Campaigns' page. 
  2. Choose a campaign you want to run from already available templates.
  3. Customize the template as per your need and complete the campaign creation.
  4. Now, automatically a form will get created through which you can collect the responses.

How to promote campaign and collect responses?
  1. To collect responses, share this form with platform users, batch ambassadors, faculties, etc. and let them know about the campaign.
  2. You can share campaign via social media, via WhatsApp groups, via prebuilt mail template, and many more ways. Know more about this in sections below.
  3. Whoever fills the form, he/she will get a confirmation mail about their response as well as you(admin) will also get a notification/mail.

How to utilize the responses?
  1. You can come to campaigns page on admin dashboard anytime and check all the responses, message individuals, publish stories or download the responses.
  2. For campaigns where your purpose is to collect responses only (for e.g. alumni award nominations, survey- physical or virtual alumni meet), you can message individuals for further process, download the responses and plan your activities further.  
  3. For campaigns where you want to publish the stories...
  • Go to Admin Dashboard > Campaigns > Campaign which has responses > Responses page.
  • Click on 'Publish' button of particular response(story) and give this story a title.
  • A draft will get created automatically with pre-populated content which you can edit.
  • Publish the story once you have edited the content.
  • Now anyone can view and share this story as any other content on the platform.
  • You can simply copy/paste the responses and use it for other mediums as well. Like newsletters, magazines, etc.

    What are the ways to promote campaign?
    1. Send mailer from the portal with prebuilt mail template.
    2. Share on your organization's official social media pages (e.g. Facebook page, LinkedIn page, Instagram, etc.)
    3. Share with faculties, ask them to share with students or post on their personal social accounts.
    4. Ask faculty to write their own story/journey and then you can publish that story as well.
    5. Share with the class representatives/batch ambassadors of past batches and ask them to share in their respective batches.
    6. Share with representatives of student clubs/student-run magazines/content writers and ask them to promote the campaign on your behalf.
    7. If any activities are already going on, like upcoming alumni meet, sending institute updates, etc. Then you can include a message in bottom of the mail to participate in this campaign as well.
    8. Add one highlighted button/link on the top navbar of the page where all other links are. (Go to Admin Dashboard > Portal Settings > Navbar Editor)
    9. Once you publish story of any alumni, don't forget to acknowledge them. Send them a thank you message with their published content link. They will also bring engagement to published stories.
    10. Similarly, share published content with all those (faculties/batch representatives/etc.) to whom you shared the form and asked to help get responses.

    General FAQs
    Q: By default campaign runs for 14days. Can this be changed?
    A: Yes, you can decrease this timeline to as low as just for 1day to as long as run for 10+years. For this go to Admin Dashboard > Campaigns > Ongoing Campaigns > your campaign > Find campaign stops on date and click change. To stop the campaign immediately go to Ongoing Campaigns > your campaign > Actions > Click stop campaign.

    Q: What happens once campaign is stopped?
    A: Once campaign is stopped, it will not be visible on the noticeboard. However form link will still work and those who has direct link can fill their responses. You(admin) can access all past campaigns and their responses from Admin Dashboard > Campaigns > Past Campaigns page.

    Q: Can I suggest a new campaign?
    A: Yes, based on your suggestions we keep adding new campaign templates regularly. To suggest a campaign go to Admin Dashboard > Campaigns > Go to bottom of the page > Click request campaign.
